A Dichotomous view of Valentines Day

Pre-valentines_day_on_a_major_

Hi All,

From twitter early on Valentine’s Day, struggling with the reality of Valentine’s Day as just another day – or feeling let down that it couldn’t be enjoyed?

“Valentine's Day! Bah! Wife has gastro, I have chest infection brewing & kids are running amuk. Valentine's Day F**k Off!”

The photo was taken on 13th February after spotting this colourful stall set up on a busy major road. Stall holder happy for me to take photo, but young man didn’t want to be in it. He had sold only 1 bear,  it was a very hot day and he seemed a bit despondent. Who buys a bear on Valentine’s Day, what type of relationship thinks this is romantic?

Bye for now

Carolyn

You're right, this post generates plenty of questions. I have another one: would his sales have improved if placed in the shade or in a different locale?

Note the position of their eyes -- downcast, looking wilted and demoralized under the sun. Light shedding truth, such as it is, on the nature of romantic love. Not very enticing to stare at a fuzzy little Dorian Grey when the day is meant to foster an idilic view of love.
